Lecture at NCKU, Tainan

Yesterday, we were across the other side of town at NCKU, at the Institute of Creative Industries Design. We were invited by Dr. Ming Turner to talk to MA students about our cross-cultural work in storytelling and social change. As a part of the session, we also delivered a practical writing workshop. We introduced students to some of our projects and methods, and talked about how we work in multiple languages, often working with non-professional writers to bring into focus their best stories. We also had time to explore questions about translation, how to make a living as a writer, research in creative writing, and how to manage the transition from creative practice to academic writing, and back again.

It was great to connect with so many socially engaged, thoughtful and reflective writers and scholars.
